AMOUNT OF TEXT
The number of pages is calculated, based on the text translated rather than the original document. A translated page equals 1800 characters with spaces (according to Bulgarian State Standard). In order to calculate the pages translated, you need to see the number of characters from the menu – Tools/Word count/Characters (with spaces) of Microsoft Word, to divide by 1800 and this way get the real number of translated pages of your text.
CONDITIONS FOR FORMING PRICES FOR ORAL TRANSLATIONS
PRICES FOR SIGNING IN FRONT OF A NOTARY OR ACCOMPANYING
Prices for oral translations are on an hour basis, as each astronomical hour, if already started, is paid as a whole, also taking into account all other factors for estimation of the translated material as language and terminological load. When documents are numerous, and at the interpreter’s claim for an exceptional complexity of the text, the price is determined by mutual agreement at a signature..
When called for expressly for an oral translation, the interpreter gets an additional 20% on the translation price, as well as a fee for the call.
PRICES FOR CONSECUTIVE AND SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATIONS
The pay for consecutive and simultaneous translations is determined by the day; if the assignment last for more than 8 hours, each additional hour is paid at a separate rate. Weekend working hours are paid with an addition of 50% on the ordinary tariff.
A preliminary schedule of events is required for simultaneous and consecutive translations. A request for interpreters should be deposited at least one day before the event. When calling an interpreter for an oral conference translation on the very day of the event, prices are calculated with an additional 50% on the standard tariff for the respective type of translation.
Clients provide all necessary materials related to the topic of translation.
It is obligatory that simultaneous oral translations are carried out by teams of two; when lasting over 4 hours and with exceptionally laborious tasks, even teams of four, at the client’s and executor’s judgment.
Consecutive translations are done by 1 interpreter only if the assignment last for less than 3 hours. For longer assignments and lecture forms a team of 2 is compulsory.
